What is a Laboratory Incubator?
Laboratory incubators are thermostatic devices used to incubate samples under temperature conditions (up to a maximum of +100 °C).
Laboratory incubators are devices equipped with a heating system only (no cooling system). These devices provide a constant temperature of 5°C above ambient temperature up to a maximum of 100°C. Thus, these devices will allow appropriate testing under certain temperature conditions.
What is the Pol-Eko Cl series like?
Laboratory incubators stand out with their microprocessor-based, large color display, available in Smart and Smart PRO options. Our offer includes incubators with natural or forced air circulation.
Incubators are cabinets where cultures are created under certain temperature conditions and can be controlled. There are various types such as refrigerated, carbon dioxide and vacuum. Standard incubators are often called “air incubators”. Sensitive incubations are sometimes performed in a water bath, in which case the water bath is also considered a type of incubator.
What is incubation?
Incubation is a process that allows microorganisms planted in the medium to multiply by keeping them at a certain temperature for a certain period of time in special devices such as ovens or incubators. This process involves the microorganism forming typical colony structures on solid media or the microorganism showing significant turbidity on liquid media.
Incubation represents the final stage of the culture acquisition process. Factors such as heat, humidity, oxygen and carbon dioxide required during incubation are provided to support the growth of microorganisms in the media, especially those that cause disease in humans. Under these conditions, cultures of microorganisms are successfully obtained. This process is an important step to examine the characteristics of microorganisms in the laboratory environment, diagnose them and develop treatment methods.
