The laboratory rotary evaporator is a device generally used in chemistry and biochemistry laboratories. This device is used to evaporate solvents or other liquids and is especially used to evaporate liquids at low temperatures. This process removes the solvent in the solution and leaves a pure or more concentrated substance.

The basic working principle of the rotary evaporator is as follows:

1. Evaporate the liquid substance: The liquid in the bottle is continuously rotated by a rotor. This rotation process increases the surface area of the liquid and allows it to evaporate faster.

2. Low pressure: Rotary evaporators use vacuum to perform the evaporation process at a lower temperature. In this way, the boiling point of liquid substances decreases, preventing harmful temperatures for heat-sensitive substances.

3. Condenser: The evaporated liquid condenses through a cooling pipe (condenser) and becomes liquid again and accumulates in the collection bottle.

Rotary evaporators are widely used especially in the recovery, purification or solubility tests of solvents. It is a very effective tool in situations where chemical processes are sensitive and temperature and pressure control are important.
