Pilling Tester
The pilling tester is used to determine the pilling and fuzzing tendency on textile surfaces as a result of friction. This test is critical for evaluating the surface durability of the fabric and measuring the long-term appearance performance of the product.
The device consists of two cubic wooden test boxes with inner surfaces covered with 3.2 mm thick cork coating. During the test, fabric samples are placed in these boxes and subjected to mechanical friction for certain periods. The results are evaluated according to the level of pilling on the surface of the sample.
This device is widely used in textile quality control laboratories, especially for performing pilling tests in accordance with ISO, ASTM and other international standards.
