Storage container for the safe storage of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

Storage containers for defective or damaged batteries with a high fire risk, minimising the toxic gases associated with thermal runaway.

The container is lined with a non-combustible thermal insulation material and offers 90 minutes of fire resistance. Additional filling and insulation material, which can absorb leaking electrolytes, completely encloses the stored Li-ion batteries.

This means that even in the event of thermal runaway (a chemical reaction with excessive heat generation), the spread of fire is prevented and the formation of toxic gases is minimised.
