Without the need for additional reagents (tablets, drops, etc.), electronic meters offer a truly professional way of measuring various water values, such as conductivity, salinity (total dissolved solids) and pH value. The measured value is shown on the instrument within seconds of immersing it in the sample liquid. The sensitive electrodes, however, must always be kept moist. They should be calibrated at regular intervals with a reference solution, preferably before each measurement. Both the batteries and the electrodes are replaceable. The operating range of the electronic meter is 0–50 °C; depending on the model, temperature can be compensated when the measured value is determined.
