It is a class 2 and B 2 type that provides 100% exhaust.

It provides safety against hazardous particles by protecting personnel, products and the environment while working with substances that meet Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 requirements. It is also used in applications related to antineoplastic drugs, genetic materials, asbestos and airborne hazardous particles.

These cabinets have special features designed to meet the unique needs of cell research. Some models come with a modified wing that can accommodate a microscope, while other models have a temperature-controlled work surface to maintain the viability of the cells.

Type B2 Biosafety Cabinets have the same airflow pattern to provide personnel and product protection. These cabinets are designed to be connected to the outside with rigid ducts. During operation, room air is drawn into the top of the cabinet and passes through a supply HEPA filter. Filtered air flows into the work area. In addition, room air is drawn in through the inlet grille located in the access opening in the work area. Contaminated air is completely exhausted through the exhaust HEPA filter and then discharged outside.
